Check out the Ingredients of the LIES of Rejection
From Thom Gardner’s Book Healing the Wounded Heart ch 9, p 101-112
Spiritual Beliefs – I feel utterly abandoned and rejected by God and expect no grace or Love from God or people. I don’t belong, I’m cast outside, removed from the blessing and cursed. Like a vagabond, wandering – no place I’m welcome or wanted.
Soul Beliefs – Loss of sense of identity, an outsider, separate, shut off, a stranger, fringe dweller
Soul Sense – I don’t belong, I’m not wanted, who am I anyway? I can’t receive love, I hate myself, others and God. I wish I’d never been born. I feel angry with God how he created me
Symptoms socially – feel a deep sense of darkness, look at others and think you don’t hear me, heed me or take any notice of me, so why should I heed or care about them? Feel abandoned and ‘abandonable’, depressed.
Emotion Focus – Mournful, I’m in exile, oblivion, inner emptiness, in a tomb sepulchre

Expels the Lies of Insecurity that Blind & Block us seeing the Revelation of the heart of our:
- True Heavenly Father, whose thoughts towards us are of love and mercy as they are towards His people and nation of Israel who had felt God’s wrath and distance because of their sin. But His heart is always to reach out and restore relationship as He speaks in Isa 54:5b-10
……your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.
6 For the Lord has called you Like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, Like a youthful wife when you were refused,” Says your God. 7 “For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. 8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer.
9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you. 10 For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
- Jesus Messiah, died for each one of us. Isaiah prophesied how Jesus understands all our pain of rejection and took it for us all onto the cross. Isa 53:2b-12
‘And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. when You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. 11 [He shall see the labour of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors
- Holy Spirit’s Comfort and Compassion: yearns for us to receive from Him as Apostle Paul writes in Rom 5:5-11
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Christ died in Our Place 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Blessing Dressing from Luke 23:32-43 – The Mercy of Jesus’ Forgiveness and Grace
32 There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 [a]Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”
And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”
36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”
38 And an inscription also was [b]written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, [c]“If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said [d]to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Jesus showed not only great compassion to this criminal, but to Mary with the Alabaster jar of anointing oil who was scorned in Luke 7:36 for weeping and washing Jesus’ feet with her tears and wiping His feet with her hair. She was supposed to be a sinful woman rejected by men but honoured and much loved by Jesus and forgiven.
Paul the Apostle had the revelation in Eph 1: 2-14 of all the spiritual Blessings that God our Father has lavished on us who believe.
We are NOT Rejected, but are Blessed, Chosen, Accepted, Adopted, Redeemed, Forgiven, Pre-destined.
His desire is that we would Repent and Re-Turn to God as our Forgiving Loving, Merciful Heavenly Father.
He is like the Father of the prodigal and elder sons both of whom rejected Him in different ways. Yet, He wanted relationship to be restored with them both and as His family. If we will surrender to God, His promise to us in Acts 3:18-19 is that He will Receive us and not reject us.
He will give us times of Refreshing and Rest that come from Him, the Lord, by His Spirit.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
Amen.

Receiving God’s Remedy for our Rejection and Insecurity
Together, we are now going to humble ourselves and seek the Lord’s healing remedy for our rejection and insecurity.
Rejection and insecurity enter in when we haven’t experienced the joy of belonging in the Lord’s house and being ministered to righteously. Belonging in the Lord’s house means we are accepted as ourselves, we are protected, cared for, and our gifts received.
Growing up, many of us didn’t receive the deepest kind of nurture we longed for. While there is always some gap between the modelling of our families and the reality of the Lord’s love for us, sometimes the gap between our longings and reality is really painful. It causes a form of suffering in our hearts which opens the way for us to become divided in our hearts and minds.
When rejection sinks in deep, we don’t know who to trust and we don’t believe that others will accept us or that we are acceptable as we are, we are worthy of being accepted. The habit of rejecting ourselves may become ingrained.
Insecurity can also mean we don’t know who to trust, and means we’re always on the lookout for the next attack or disappointment. Rejection can cause us to reject others because we don’t know what acceptance feels like. And insecurity can cause us to mistrust others and push them away, even when they are trying their best to take care of us… Because safety doesn’t actually feel safe to us.
When insecurity has burrowed deep in our hearts, safety can actually feel very unsafe, because at a time when we needed secure caregiving or protection from outside of us, we experienced the unbearable shock of being abused or manipulated.
Knowing we can trust God and are accepted by God comes through receiving His Word and letting it burrow down deep into an even deeper place in our hearts. The Word of God is the seed that is able to revive us. It is also the bread of life which sustains us.
Before Jesus ate the Passover meal with His disciples, and after He’d entered Jerusalem, He was anointed one evening by a woman who washed His feet with oil and her hair. The disciples rebuked her, but the Lord said: the poor You have with You always, she is doing a good thing for me; she is preparing me for burial and everywhere the gospel is preached she will be spoken of, she will be remembered.
Before the Lord was rejected of men and bore our sufferings in Himself, He honoured a woman of no reputation who humbled herself before Him. Because of her beautiful sacrifice of love to Him the Lord could testify and provide another record for us in His Word that He knew of his forthcoming death and chose it for our sake.
He accepted her sacrifice and said it is a good thing that the witness of her actions would accompany the gospel in all the world. He commended her actions, her humility before Him. Her lowliness was beautified and the Lord testified of how He saw her before all those present.
This event also gave the Lord chance to speak of how we are to respond to the lowliest in our midst. While He was still present in his earthly body it was good that she should minister to Him. She recognised One greater than her and poured out her love to him in a practical way, not regarding the low opinions of others towards her but being single-minded and singlehearted towards the Lord, she was able to bless Him in the time that He needed.
His Words reveal that she ministered to His heart. Do we perceive how we minister to the Lord when we approach Him in our brokenness to love Him? If we could perceive how we minister to Him we would not feel so rejected or insecure.
The Lord also revealed that when He is not here in our earthly body we are to minister to the poor who are always with us, in such a way. We are to humble ourselves before the broken in our midst and be wholehearted, single-minded, in ministering to them.
To the religious elite of His day the Lord Himself was mostly of no repute but some recognised His Lordship. The Lord made it clear that we will be judged by how we regard the lowliest in our midst and as we minister to them we are ministering to Him.
Are we offended that the Lord has called us to minister to the broken with no regard for our reputation? Are we willing that others should minister to us in our brokenness and do we recognise that the Lord has seen us in our need?
The Lord, like this woman, was singlehearted, of one mind with Himself when He went to the cross for You and me. If He had not purposed to die with everyone of us in mind His sacrifice for humankind would not have been sufficient. He determined in Himself to fulfil the demands of judgement for every person’s sin.
The Passover lamb was a burnt offering. On the cross, the Lord experienced the fulness of the righteous judgement by fire determined upon the transgressions of humankind. There was and is no way for us to live in the presence of God without sharing in His nature.
We were not able to repair the breach between what was required from us in order to be restored to God’s presence and what we were able to accomplish on our own behalf.
The states of rejection and insecurity accurately reflect our condition as humans apart from the Lord. Apart from the light of His Word, we reject the Word of God and reject one another in our brokenness. We experience rejection because of our inability to be for one another what only the Lord can be, the Repairer of the breach. But when we know He is and He has done abundantly above what we could ask or expect on our behalf, the revelation of grace bubbles over and we can receive others in their brokenness – though they may still reject themselves we speak a better Word on their behalf and signal like a lighthouse there is One who grasps those still in darkness and sets them free.
Apart from God our condition is one of insecurity. The assurance of forgiveness we have as an inheritance from Him because we belong to Him, now affirms that no transgression is the final end of our story.
When we fear attack or disappointments from outside, the Lord reminds us there is a reality which surpasses the impact of our present circumstances and feared expectations. Though humans can kill our bodies the Lord Almighty determines the fate of both our souls and bodies.
For those who will receive His Word, His voice in their hearts and follow it, He has determined life. And when we attend to the necessary thing that is receiving and following His Word as He guides us it cannot be taken away. We have an assurance that surpasses the possibilities of harm from our fellow humans. But Jesus gives us even greater assurance and that is those He calls out from the world and to heed His voice are granted victory over the gates of hell and death.
His Presence goes with us. He builds us and the body of believers in Him on the foundation that He is the Son of God. Because we do not rest our hope on our own abilities, strength or even love, He is able to rescue us from ourselves; He is able to cause us to trust and know we are accepted.
Even when we are rejected, even when our circumstances are fundamentally insecure, He provides joy in His victory, that through our brokenness He is revealing the knowledge of His all-encompassing power, strength, and love towards us to the world.
The way we follow is a Person. We know the way ahead only as we get to know Jesus as our Friend. Our hearts and our minds need this revelation like nothing else, more and more. As we ask Him to reveal Himself to us He will answer and He will cause the light of His presence to abound more and more within the temple of our bodies so that it can’t be hidden.
He has promised us as His family we have the means to overcome the world by our faith and His Spirit. The ways He works are exceedingly mysterious in one way and yet He speaks in such a way that any one of us can find Him when we seek Him and hear His voice in such a way that ministers to us and reveals that He has known us; He has known to speak in such a way that we will recognise He is the One who sees our hearts, who knows the ways of our mind and longs to make us whole again in Him.
As we long to belong, Lord help us to receive the Word that You have accepted us; that You have entrusted Yourself and Your Spirit to us and that You have obtained for us a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
We perceive these things not by sight but by Your Strength working in us on our behalf.
Lord help us to humble ourselves before You, admit our fundamental weakness, entrust our brokenness to You and allow You to lead us to do the things in Your heart and mind, and change our hearts and minds so that we desire the same things.
Unite our hearts and minds to minister to the brokenhearted, to receive the ministry of our brethren, to recognise when it is safe. Lord help us to receive Your Word unto ourselves; to receive the good fruit of Your Spirit as they multiply within us; to abound to the good works You have prepared beforehand that we should walk in; to depend not on ourselves but on Your unfailing grace in our weakness.
Thank You Lord for the testimony of the woman who ministered to You, who prepared You for burial. Lord thank You for the example of Your sacrifice, the sacrifice of Your life as You lived it on earth. You lived with grace, You served those around You with honour. You allowed Yourself to be ministered to by the lowly, by the broken and You did not esteem the opinions of the religious establishment of Your day. You did not allow them to obstruct the path of obedience You determined to walk in so that we could be restored to the Father.
Lord You are the Repairer of the breach. You fill the gaps where we have rejected Your Word, where we have been rejected. Where our fate was death, You accounted for the fruit of transgression in in our lives, You accounted for the penalty of every transgression of those who receive You and those who don’t.
Lord help us to receive Your sacrifice. By Your Word break in pieces the things which divide us from ourselves and one another. Cause us to become whole. Unite our minds and our hearts so we can hear what You are saying and the words we’ve already heard.
Magnify the light of Your Words in the temple of our bodies so the light in our eyes is Your Word and there is no darkness left in the temple of our bodies because we know we belong to You now and You have granted us to overcome the world as we identify with You and Your perfect sacrifice that we needed, that we could not make on our own behalf because we were dead in transgressions, alienated from the presence of God who is our life. But You determined to come and live among us as a man and now by Your spirit.
Heal our rejection Lord; heal our insecurity. Where we feel unaccepted or unacceptable, where we feel we cannot trust, restore us in Your way, in Your time.
Give us hope to believe these things are possible. You have truly granted us to overcome the world as we run by faith, not by sight, and the things we hope for in You are far more real than the circumstances which beset us, the lies we’ve believed and the challenges we face.
There is no darkness left that can keep us from Your presence. Draw us near to Your face. Help us to perceive the way we minister to Your heart when we approach You in our brokenness with love towards You. And when we minister to others who have rejected themselves, who cannot trust anyone for the betrayals they’ve known, Lord, strengthen us so we can stand on others’ behalf in Your might knowing that You use us in our brokenness.
In our weakness Your strength is made perfect. You found us out when we were still shrouded in darkness, You raised us from the grave. Restore Your people to our holy hope that You are and You reveal Your face to those who seek You.
Shed abroad Your love in our hearts, help us to recognise the temptations of rejection and insecurity and discern how we are to walk differently now, yet keep us from being offended by others’ brokenness when they are still ruled by these same temptations. Help us to draw near to them and minister to them as You do it.
By Your Spirit Lord, Your people will overcome the darkness in this world. You have broken off the sting from death so now we can walk in troubled places and not be overcome by our old fears, rejection or insecurity.
To You Lord are all things, the glory, the honour and might. Thank You for feeding us with Your Word, for watching over us, for guarding and guiding us, receiving our ministry to You as we seek Your face.
Thank You Lord that You receive us as we approach You in our brokenness and that You cause our hearts to rest from the troubles we have known.
You have plumbed the depths of our sorrow. You have known the separation of humankind from God in Yourself. You determined to pay the debt each of us owed that we could not pay.
You are the Repairer of the breach, Restorer of paths to dwell in. We are of You and we will rebuild the old waste places as You move in us and through us to do the things in Your heart and mind which no eye has seen or ear heard.
You are the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Thank You for causing us to stand, help us to rejoice that You have received us unto Yourself and the hope we have in You is an anchor for our souls no man can shake.
Help us to abide and know You abide with us as we abide in Your Word and allow You to dwell in our midst, allow You to heal our broken hearts and shepherd our souls to the place You are preparing.
Your love is the remedy for our rejection and Your truth the remedy for our insecurity. Thank You that You are love and truth and no power in heaven or earth is stronger than You.
Jesus Son of God keep us, seal us with Your precious blood on the doorposts of our hearts and minds. Even so let it be unto us, all Your people and the world, in Your way, in Your time.
Ps Jeff’s Special Today: “False Witnessing”
Proverbs 14:5 “A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness will utter lies.” You and I are to turn from false witnessing and repent if this is an issue. This is the sixth out of seven abominations to the Lord: “a false witness who speaks lies and one who sows discord among brethren.“ Proverbs 6:19.
Proverbs 6:12-15 says: ” A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth; He winks with his eyes, he shuffles his feet, he points with his fingers; perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually, he sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.“
Being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is any remnant of false witnessing an old issue needing to be confessed? And then repented of ? Do you think His Word is only for the disciples 2,000 years ago? Do you have any residue of a residue of this issue for such a time as this? Was it connected to your upbringing as a child? Were “white lies” common in your youth? Was it a family pattern in any way?
God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom and Comfort on this issue. May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
