Col 2:13-15
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Ps Jeff’s Special Today: “Quenching the Holy Spirit”
Today’s issue is quenching the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 could not be more clear: ” Do not quench the Spirit.” There is no date put upon that; the Spirit is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Ephesians 4:30 says: “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.“ And 2 Corinthians 3:17,18 presents a beautiful, powerful picture of life in Messiah/Christ: “Now the LORD is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
Being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is this old pattern of rejecting the Holy Spirit still blocking your serving your Almighty Creator today? Is there any remnant of this old pattern needing to be confessed to Him, your Teacher (Matthew 23:10)? Are there any old vows you made in this area that now need to be removed? Do you think this is only applicable to the disciples 2,000 or 3,000 years ago? Do you have any residue of a residue of this issue for such a time as this? Was it connected to your upbringing as a child? Was it a family pattern in any way?
God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom and Comfort on this issue. May you go forward on His narrow path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
