Thanksgiving and Prayer

Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.

Amen.

12 ‘R’ prayer prompts towards revival for the church in Australia.
Come Holy Spirit… and bring:

1. Repentance

Rev. 2:4,5: “To the angel of the church in Ephesus write….. Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lamp stand from its place”. (NIV)
Joel 2:12,13: Eternal One: Even now, turn back your heart and rededicate yourselves to Me; Show Me your repentance by fasting, weeping, and mourning. Rip the wickedness out of your
hearts; don’t just tear your clothing. Now return to the Eternal, your True God. You already know He is gracious and compassionate. He does not anger easily and maintains faithful love. He is willing to relent and not harm you. (VOICE)
2 Pet. 3:9: The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (NIV)

Eph. 4:21-24: Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and

(NIV)

The 7-Fold Victory of the Lamb that was Slain

This Thursday, we are going to be walking in the garden of our hearts with the Risen Lord, Jesus, Son of God. At this time of year, we remember how Jesus endured the fulness of judgement determined upon the transgressions of humankind.

Because He humbled Himself, He was also raised in glory. When Jesus spoke to His disciples that He was going to be glorified now, they could not foresee the manner of His glorification. And when He had spoken of His forthcoming sufferings, Peter had even rejected the Lord’s words as though they were unholy imaginings.

But the Lord has done mightily on our behalf without counsel from any man or spirit and He purposed to do what must be done. There was no other way for the Lord to restore us to Himself. Not only did the Lord see what was required, but He purposed and determined to finish and fulfil the demands of the law on behalf of every human.

He made the way for us to receive again the inheritance He’d always purposed for humankind: to share in His nature and to steward the earth according to His Word, with Him showing us the way to walk in.

We will forever be searching out the mystery of the Lord’s faithfulness to us through enduring death on a cross, having determined to walk in obedience to the Father, and bearing the load of humankind’s brokenness and desolation of separation from the Father in Himself. Nevertheless, though the mystery remains for us to search out as the Spirit of truth leads and guides us, we know there is a pattern He established; a set of principles His kingdom is founded on.

His Word is for us on an individual level, as much as it is for all He calls into His kingdom, and He is calling all men, women and children, that they might know Him and be restored to the Father.

In Revelation 5, we see the victory of the Lamb who is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing.

He is the Lamb that was slain, He is the fulfilment of the Law, God’s Word. He is drawing the world of humankind again unto Himself. He is restoring all things, that humankind would walk righteously, submitting ourselves to Him as the One who submitted Himself to the Father.

And Revelation 5 gives us a glimpse of righteousness fulfilled in all creation, where the Lord receives worship in spirit and truth. As we read Revelation 5 together now, let’s bring the doorposts of our mind, heart, and spirit before the throne of Grace, present ourselves to Him, and in faith mark – seal – the doorposts of our mind, heart, spirit, and the temple of our bodies with the blood of the Lamb that was slain.

Rev 5:1-14 (NKJV)

[1] And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. [2] Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” [3] And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. [4] So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. [5] But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” [6] And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. [7] Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.  [8] Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. [9] And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, [10] And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” [11] Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, [12] saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!” [13] And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” [14] Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Ps Jeff’s Special Today: “Failure to uphold His Liberty”

Perhaps this is best stated in 1 Peter 2:15,16: For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men—as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.” You and I are to Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1.

The Source of our Liberty is Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus the Christ. Going to His synagogue in Nazareth He read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah: The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18,19.

And liberty is where the Lord is. “ Now the LORD is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the LORD.” 2 Corinthians 3:17,18.

We are to spend time in worship and prayer and repentance in the liberty and freedom of the Holy Spirit, knowing that He is transforming us increasingly into the image of the glorious Son.

Being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is this issue of failing to uphold His Liberty, using it improperly, something blocking your serving your Almighty Creator? Is there any remnant of this old pattern needing to be confessed? Do you think this is only applicable to the disciples 2,000 years ago? Do you have any residue of a residue of this issue for such a time as this? Was it connected to your upbringing as a child? Was it a family pattern in any way?

God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom and Comfort on this issue. May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
