Matt 26:28 AMP
Jesus then said: for this is My blood of the [new and better] covenant, which [ratifies (seals) the agreement and] is being poured out for many….
Eph 1:13-14
In whom (Christ) ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel (good news) of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.
Ps Jeff’s Special Today: “Reluctance to Fasting”
Jesus/Yehsua Himself fasted forty days and forty nights (Matthew 4:2). He later said to His disciples, when they could not cure the epileptic child, and when then He removed the demon, that ” this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17:21). And Paul mentions that a wife and husband “may give yourselves to fasting and prayer” –coming together again so that satan does not tempt them. (1 Corinthians 7:5).
However, being honest with yourself, as you spend time with the Holy Spirit, is there an old issue with being reluctant to fast that needs to be confessed? is fasting an issue ? do you have any residue of opposing fasting from your upbringing as a child? was it a family pattern?
God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom and Comfort on this issue. May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
