I was struggling one day with feelings of hopelessness and worry stealing my joy and then something snapped me out of it.
My 4 year old asked why do we praise God..?
As I began passionately explaining to him all the thankfulness and love I felt for the Lord started pouring out and love drove away all fear and suddenly I had hope and a reason to live in joy again. It gave me all the perspective I needed. The Truth sets us free.
We were born to worship God and meant to live in love not fear. Reaching out to others forces us to love and keep it simple.

Pastor Jeff’s Special Today: “Failure to love your enemies”
The Risen Christ could not be more clear: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect [spiritually mature] , just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5: 43-48.
The footnote in the New Spirit-Filled Life Bible to this verse says”. “The emphasis in the command to be perfect is not on a flawless moral nature but on an all-inclusive love that seeks the good of all. Instead of following the example of sinners who love only those who love them, we are to be like the Father in also loving those who do not love us.“
But being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is there an old issue needing to be confessed, being reluctant to love even your enemies? is loving others regardless of circumstances an issue ? do you think the Word is only for the disciples 2,000 years ago? do you have any residue of not loving others in your upbringing as a child? was it a family pattern in any way?
God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom and Comfort on this issue. May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
