Chef’s Menu For Today

A Soaking Day – to come aside in the Presence of the Lord

GOD FORSAKEN

The whipping you suffered
So my wounds are whole
You took all my pain on Yourself
The bruises You bore
Helped to buy back my soul, oh
My sin separated You from our God
Of love
My God, my God, forsaken for us
My God

The mocking, the scorning, despising You Lord
Temptation to doubt who You were
The shame that You carried
Now carries us all, oh
You took it and proved who You are
Our God of love
My God, my God, forsaken for us
My God

And by His stripes we are healed
What’s due to us has been nailed to the cross
And by His stripes we are healed
We know who we are now accepted by God
Our God of love
My God, my God of Mercy and love
My God
My God, my God of Mercy and love
My God

Our lives a living sacrifice of worship.

Jesus was sacrificed and we share in the fellowship of His sufferings (Phil 3:10).

But what does this mean? What does Paul mean when He says we are conformed to His death?

We who have counted the cost already see ourselves as having died with Christ and now living in Him and He in us.

‭‭I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
Galatians 2:20 WEBBE‬‬

A burnt offering was an aroma pleasing to the Lord according to the Old Testament. Yet in the New Covenant we become the burnt offering… Our flesh burnt off in the refining fires of the Holy Spirit burning in us. All that remains is Christ in us … Formed by the flames leaving precious eternal love. Our lives a living sacrifice of worship.

Now thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place. For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God, in those who are saved, and in those who perish; to the one a stench from death to death; to the other a sweet aroma from life to life.
2 Corinthians 2:14-16a (WEB)

THE OFFERING

You offered Yourself
You poured out Your life for the sake of us all
And the offering was sweet, sweet smelling incense
An offering acceptable, perfect and right
An offering no other could make
The offering of One Perfect Life

Oh, Father, You gave up Your Son
The sacrifice for us all
Your love overwhelms me and gives me the strength
To follow my Saviour

No silver or gold
No treasure we give up could possibly pay
For the gift of Your life, freely given
Demanding no payment except for a heart
A heart, sick of sin, guilt and pride
A heart to want One Perfect Life

Oh Jesus, my Saviour, You took up my place on that cross
The blood that You shed has washed over me
And cleansed me and set me free

Now I offer myself
I surrender my life to You, Spirit of God
And I honour Your Name, sweet name of Jesus
I give back to You all I have, all I am
I’ll pour out my life for the lost
And all for the glory of God

Oh, Jesus, my Saviour, Your love is amazing
To You I surrender and open my heart
And offer the whole of my life

I worship You Jesus, I worship You Saviour
Honour You Lamb of God that was slain, Glory to Your Name

It is Christ’s life that is manifest in us when all flesh is burned off. All else stripped away. All that remains is pure Love in the Truth.

Our Worship Song for this Passover Weekend:

Notice how God’s Love becomes our Cornerstone

My hope is built on nothing less (Cornerstone)

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
He is Lord, Lord of all
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all, yeah
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne

Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

Pastor Jeff’s Special Today:  “Lack of service to God”

God’s Word could not be more clear: But be doers of the word ,and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (James 1: 22-25).

This follows Jesus/Yeshua’s words in Matthew 7:24-27Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, and it fell. And great was its fall.”

One other thought: now that you have repented, chosen Jesus as Lord of your life, and received the indwelling Holy Spirit, ask Him His unique call on your life. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and anointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” (John 15:16). Following that unique call with give you deep JOY as you serve Him!

Being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is there something blocking your serving your Almighty Creator? Is there any remnant of lukewarmness towards Him needing to be confessed? And then repented of ? Do you think His Word is only for the disciples 2,000 years ago? Do you have any residue of a residue of this issue for such a time as this? Was it connected to your upbringing as a child? Was it a family pattern in any way?

May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
