Australia Kneels : Week 2 – Day 2

Reflecting on God’s Promises

The Garden Catalogue For Today

Dr Hilary Moroney – Canberra House of Prayer for All Nations

Let’s listen to Dr Hilary how God wants to bring us in to the Loving Relationship with our Heavenly Father, and help us to understand some of our mindsets that are a blockage – so we can discover the Plans and Purposes He has for our lives.

Just listen as she unpacks it all for us…

Why not read Luke 15, Rom8 and Eph 2 for yourself, to understand the Relationship our Heavenly Father is calling us into and the plans and purposes He has for us, and journal any insights you discover…

To become true sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, we need to choose to live our life in His Kingdom ways

A pondering message written by Diane Spicer

Something to think about…  after a time of reflecting through the book of Exodus – especially chapter 13, doing some prep work for Passover at the end of this month, and re-listening to a message I heard years ago by Dr. Myles Munroe, I began writing the following:

When Pharaoh finally let God’s people go — free from their 400+ years of slavery, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was the nearest, easiest and shortest route.  I wondered why not?

For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So, God led the people around by the wilderness desert road toward the Red Sea.Exodus 13:17-18

God knew they couldn’t possibly cross that body of water without Him. He knew that their time in the wilderness would test them as they faced difficulties and had to learn to rely on Him alone for  provision, etc. and this harder trip would also give them an opportunity to change their minds!

God knew that after years of slavery and hardship, what was in their hearts and mind (soul), would hinder them in the Promised Land.  Maybe, by the time they got to the Red Sea, they would have a better attitude – no longer acting like slaves and in bondage – but learning how to live as free men/women!

It’s not the storms or the obstacles we face in life that are the problem! It’s how we interpret and respond to those storms and obstacles that is the issue!   Will we trust our own intuition, experience and knowledge? Or will we trust that God can make a way THROUGH the impossible?

A mature, well-tested leader often sees challenges or problems as opportunities to grow! They see them as a challenge to his/her potential and they are open to learning new skills, new ways, and to take new risks.

The immature, unskilled, undeveloped person sees trouble as a fighting, chaotic, overwhelming, depressing, destructive element sent to destroy their lives.  It’s ‘the enemy’, God, or someone else to blame.

It’s time to examine yourself.  Take a higher view of your circumstances. If you are stuck, in the middle of chaos, or facing your own Red Sea, could it be that God is working on preparing YOU for what lies ahead?

The Joshua generation made it to the Promised Land but they “did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel.”  They refused to change.  They were stuck in their ‘old slave mentality.’

If you go into the Promised Land before you’re prepared mentally, emotionally, and/or physically, you’ll run back to Egypt – every time!

The freed Israelites were victims of mental and historical conditioning… and they refused to change their minds… and missed out on all that God had for them.

If you haven’t received what God promised you yet, maybe, it’s due to your attitude or your religious mindset.

Jesus took 12 men, fishermen, tax collectors, and made them fishers of men that we are, 2000+ years later, still talking about!  He took this silent girl from New York and made her a speaker!  I aim to remain teachable, humble and open to learning from Holy Spirit!

What is the Power of your Testimony?

I had to change the way I thought (about myself, God, and others).  I had to “be transformed by renewing my own mind!”  BTW, God doesn’t control our mind! He gave us free-will to choose Him.  To choose to live His kingdom way.  To choose to lay down our past life and to ‘put on’ Christ.  The way we react, the way we behave 24/7 matters. We are called to be Christlike! Every day.  Every way.  Towards every person we meet.

you should be teachers by now, yet you still need someone to teach you!Hebrews 5:12  Why? Because they were hearing all the great sermons Jesus preached, following Him, looking like it was making a great impact, but they refused to let His Words transform the way they lived out their daily lives.

God is more concerned with the condition of our heart/soul, than He is about our ministry, or church, or business, or even family.  Are we Christlike – that’s the goal of every Christian.  As Jesus lives in us and through us, we will be transformed into His likeness, IF we love like He loved, forgive like He forgave, give like He did, etc.

Myles Munroe said of the Israelites, “They accepted their EXTERNAL CONDITIONING as their INTERNAL destiny.”  They decided that the way it is on the outside is the way I am on the inside.  They allowed the atmosphere or their circumstances to create their attitude.  This is the failure of the Israelites.

“The freed Israelites were physically relocated, intellectually motivated but they were spiritually paralysed.”

I know by working 10 years in prison ministry, that you can take a prisoner out of prison, but if he/she doesn’t change their mindset, their identity, their attitude, they will always live like prisoners – whether living in a prison cell or in a mansion!

Every time we stop to listen, God is speaking to us.  The challenge is… will we not only hear what He is saying, but will we put what we are hearing into practice! Or will we continue to think “oh, this is for that person, or that person, or that church, or for that nation…” (it might be, but will we dare to live it out for ourselves?)  Will we change the way we live first, to live for Him?

God will NOT control us – You cannot love something you control! So, He gave us free will – to love and worship Him.

Thank You, Lord, for delivering us from the bondage of our ‘soul’/flesh and giving us the Promised Land of Your Spirit; alive in us when we are born-again and baptised in Your Love!

The Second and Third Sessions of Holy Spirit Retreat exploring the Victories of the Cross in the Scriptures and through Prayer in the Presence of the Lord.

Ps Jeff’s Special Today: “Willful ignorance of local and national politics”

Part of praying that the gospel will be spread and God’s people will be protected, we learn in 1 Timothy 2:1-3 that Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior.”

This involves participation, if only as an intercessor, not willful ignorance of those in authority in local and national leadership. An excellent example is Paul, in chains in prison. In Ephesians 6:19,20 we see he sought prayers for boldness…and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

Being candid with yourself and the Holy Spirit, is this issue of being willfully afraid to participate at any level in the governance of your community or nation to share the gospel, something blocking your serving your Almighty Creator today? Is there any remnant of this old pattern needing to be confessed? Do you think this is only applicable to the disciples 2,000 years ago? Do you have any residue of a residue of this issue for such a time as this? Was it connected to your upbringing as a child? Was it a family pattern in any way?

God bless you as you seek His Holy Spirit Wisdom on this vital issue. May you go forward on His path, “perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).
